As content developers, you have to admit that creating content or writing posts for your brand’s site or blog is one of the most fun activities of your day. For the social media branch of any campaign, you get to go online, find interesting pieces of information, write about your passion and you get to play around the social networks to interact with people who share or disagree with your views.

And then there are times that you waste hours staring at your word processor’s blinking cursor with a whole lot of nothing in your creative head, frustration boiling deep in your gut and your mind humming along to the numbing chant of “writer’s block.”

To help get you out of that writing quicksand, we’ve listed some time-proven suggestions even we here at SEOP.com do when we feel that snarling burnout at the corner waiting to mug us. So here they are, a few remedies to help alleviate the frustration to make sure you don’t end up turning into this guy.

Take A Break.
This has got to be is one of the best ways you can get out of your funk in any kind of industry that involves you stringing words together. We know we’re still in a corporate setting, but it’s ok; everyone needs a break every once in a while. Sometimes, a 15-minute nap works, or maybe a couple of hours of actual sleep. Just sit back or lie down in a very comfortable seat or bed, stretch and give yourself some time away from your computer monitor’s judging ominous glow.

Take A Walk.
Or drive, whichever works for you. The office cubicle can really be suffocating especially if you’ve been working at long stretches at a time. Sometimes we really need to step back and get out of the office and give our eyes something else to look at. Hang out at the community playground, sit under a tree at the park or the fountain at the local piazza; fresh air and a change in scenery can really help. Should the worst case burnout befalls your unfortunate head, perhaps a trip out of town can do wonders.

Read.
Writing can really take a huge chunk out of your day; you’ll probably end up completing your research but too mentally drained to write. You can try reading something unrelated to your general topic; it will can take your mind out of the monotony but still keep the creative brew stewing. Comic books, a novel you’ve been meaning to read for a long time, a techy how-to, last night’s takeout menu-hey, whatever floats your boat, any reading material would be great as long as it has nothing to do with the current subject you’re writing about can it can hold your attention for a few minutes.
