Google Opens Analytics App Store

Google, Grow your business |

Google, through its Senior Manager for Analytics Brett Crosby, has launched a new app gallery during the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit held in San Jose, California this week. It allows Google users access to more tools for finding and understanding their Web stats while accommodating analytics-hinged applications third party developers have created.

Google Analytics is not simply a product but also a growing ecosystem of developers, tools, users, and partners.” said the Trevor Claiborne, a member of the Google Analytics Team on the announcement on the Analytics blog. “And now the ecosystem is growing further with developers who are creating a variety of applications on the Google Analytics platform.”

The Google Analytics Application Gallery, as of writing, houses 32 applications and includes some pretty interesting and potentially potent ones. Among them are the Excellent Analytics for working with Analytics data in an Excel spreadsheet, the WordStream Keyword Management for SEO for researching keywords for search engine optimization purposes and LinkTagger which automatically tracks cross-domain, outbound and download links in Analytics.

These apps are organized into 12 categories including Business Intelligence, Campaign Management, e-Commerce, E-mail and Mobile Marketing and SEO among others. Interested developers can enter their apps by simply clicking on the Add Your Application button on the landing page and following a simple procedure to submit.

We’re very pleased to see that Google included a Phone Call Tracking category in the application gallery. Call Tracking is becoming a very popular tool for online marketing pros to track phone call conversions from SEO and PPC campaigns.
