Google-certified ad networks now available to all publishers

Google has made Google-certified ad networks open and available to all Adsense publishers, according to an official announcement posted this week on the Adsense blog.
This announcement is a follow up to a blog post back in August of last year where the Internet company declared its plans to let publishers allow these Google-certified ad networks (third party advertising networks) to compete for display ad space on your Web site. While this feature has been available for quite some time now, it has only been offered to publishers within North America and Europe.
This feature affords you the possibility of higher earnings in the long run as it makes your Web site or blog more open to a wider array of ads competing for your display ad space. Whether these ads belong to Google-certified ad networks or under the AdWords program, the Adsense system will display which ones are slated to generate the most profit for you.
To ensure the quality of the ads, Google has its strict regulations all of its certified ad networks must follow, giving significant focus on ad quality and loading speed among other critical factors. On the other hand, you can specify which ad networks can appear on your Web site by refining the settings in Ad Review Center.
Google also ensures user privacy despite the apparent open structure this new feature operates on. The company is aware that some of the ad networks currently in existence utilize tools not unlike Google’s interest-based advertising for displaying relevant ads to users on their visited sites. While it allows the use of these tools among ad networks who comply with Google guidelines, these networks won’t be able to collect information off your site intended for subsequent interest-based advertising. As a site administrator or owner, you will also be able to opt out of receiving ads based on user interests, a capability tweak Google has supplemented by changing their requirements for third-party ad serving.
Moreover, as this is a newly rolled out feature, Google says that changes in your earnings or ads will not immediately be apparent as they are still certifying additional ad networks.
“We’re dedicated to providing users with a positive experience, while helping publishers effectively monetize the ads appearing on their sites.” Google stated in its blog post. “We believe you’ll find that more competition translates into better ads and increased revenue in the long run.”
